Planning Summertime in Las Vegas

Am I really talking about summer already? OMG, as the kids say! Wonky-face emoji. Sunshine emoji. Swimmer emoji. You get the point. I’ve just realized a spring/summer trip is sneaking up on us next month and here I am thinking about sliding into the tanning booth beforehand for some Sin City glow. I don’t want to scare the aqua revelers at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas when we descend upon the resort for culinary money shots and a blended cocktail or mixed spirit. The planning continues here…

Finding our way to The Cosmo a dozen times or so now seems like (a fabulous) old hat. A perfectly fitting and sly fedora that provides us exactly what we crave; A place to be treated very well, eat the best food the Strip offers and enjoy a private terrace that transcends other hotels attached to a beautifully draped suite. Toss in some boozy pool play, time with my loving husband and a spot of shopping, and I’m set. There’s two new restaurants we desperately want to try at The Cosmopolitan. The bold modern Japanese cuisine of zuma and delicious steamed buns and noodles found at Momofuku are both on our hunger radar. I believe we’ve eaten everywhere else inside the resort. It will pain me to stray from the sexy STK but I know I’ll be tough. I’ll survive… downing hot sake and delicate sushi the entire time.

We’ve decided to skip shows this trip focusing solely on relaxing and rejuvenation at the resort. Sometimes trying to plan a show plus have a  nice relaxing dinner after driving into town can become a bit crazed. I plan on hitting the blackjack tables somewhere sometime and I know Jacques will drop a bill or two in the Wheel of Fortune slot machines, as well. It’s his birthday trip so I reserved for Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental which is something he enjoys and I do too! It’s very relaxing and refined plus the view from their 23rd floor Tea Lounge is everything.

Of course, there’s so much to do at The Cosmo that we haven’t done it all. We’ve heard all about the 60,000 square feet of turned up fun at Marquee Nightclub and it seems insane. Bottle service, anyone? Bring a lady friend. However, I truly don’t mind watching sexy straight boys heading into the Marquee Dayclub in board shorts and flip-flops towing along hot girls with barely-there string garments in heels. And unfortunately I’ll miss my favorite songbird Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music on August 17 at The Chelsea. My mouth did just water for some fabulous desserts at Milk Bar, another place I haven’t tried yet. Vegas, here we come! #777
